My medical training started with an internship at the Lagos General Hospital and Island-Maternity Hospital. Following a short surgery residency at Lagos University Technical Hospital (LUTH), I moved to New York for surgical training. Upon completion of general surgery residency at Harlem Hospital New York City, affiliated with Columbia University, I embarked on a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery. Following completion of both General and Cardiothoracic surgery, I decided to contribute to the medical care of Nigerians and returned home to teach and engage in clinical practice at the Lagos University Technical Hospital. After some time, I returned to the US- Los Angeles, California and joined Kaiser Permanente Medical group; in which I became a partner for over 25 years. For several years during that time,! volunteered at Westminster Free Clinic in Thousand Oaks, California, which is a clinic that provides multispecialty free medical care for indigenous families of migrant farm workers or anyone without health insurance.
Currently, besides some clinical work, I am an Expert Reviewer for the California State Medical Board.
